The Healthcare Equality Project, previously called The Long Island Patient Safety Advisory Council, was started when Pulse President Ilene Corina attended the National Patient Safety Foundation / American Hospital AssociationPatient Safety Leadership Training.  Her "Action Learning Project" was to learn from the people who use the healthcare system what obstacles they face when seeking safe quality care.  This project was developed with support from The Long Island Unitarian Universalist Fund, Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council and North Shore LIJ Health System,.
